Since 2008, the concept presentation of Xu Xiaoguo 's works began to get rid of the path dependence on the visual narrative framework and directly pointed to the humanistic accumulation behind various visual paradigms. These cultural relics of human conflict, game, reconciliation between man and nature and the supernatural world are scattered in ancient books and legends. They are also precipitated in contemporary people's sense of history and collective unconsciousness. He implemented the self cognition, identification and criticism of the humanistic visual system through the process of continuous correction of the picture, and combed and constructed the experience of criticism and self-criticism through the logical clues of the series of Sacred Relics。
Xu Xiaoguo is not an artist who emphasizes self schema and overall style. His series of works often jump from one visual cultural object to another. This is not only out of his psychology of seeking change and breakthrough, but also out of his exploration, touching and entanglement in the artistic problems he cares about. He tries to control himself and the picture. What Xu Xiaoguo cares about is the expression of the concept of his works. For this reason, he sometimes deliberately embarrasses himself. Shaping, defecting, reshaping, expressing, revising and re expressing are often his ups and downs of language adventure before completing the whole picture. However, Xu Xiaoguo is not afraid of making mistakes. In the process of creation and revision, he even gave up some works with peak experience but incomplete picture expression without hesitation. It can be said that the content of the series of Xu Xiaoguo 's Sacred Relics is never confusing and the meaning is not ambiguous. Instead, it is a step-by-step process, quietly realizing a process from narration to anti narration.
